The mission of ERA is to develop, in Stanciova, a model for a sustainable rural community. This will include the ecological, social and economic development of the community whilst preserving the local traditions.
Ecotopia - (from "oikos"- house and "topos" - place) does not come from "utopia" as many tend to think but it simple means the place where we want to live.
Between the stormy past of Romania and an uncertain global future, we are among those who do not just simply live, guided by unquestioned traditions or aggressive brainwash by the media, but we try to make sense of the world we live in and make choices.
We were fortunate to study both in Universities and outside them, to dream, to see successes from our efforts, to travel and later on, host in our house free minds wandering in this world. The knowledge and the ideals that we gathered are now becoming reality. It's still a long way ahead but we enjoy the way itself.
